Set in Bromley Cross in Bolton, the Green Bengal Restaurant takes its name from the Bengal Tiger - the graceful big cat which dwells in the grassland and swamps of Southern Asia.
The restaurant offers a fresh approach to Asian cuisine in the most stylish of settings.
Originally from Bangladesh, owner Zia Choudhury's ambition to earn his living in the culinary world began at an early age.
Watching his father manage several restaurants successfully across the UK, the 29-year-old was inspired to develop his first- hand experience and launch his own establishment.
This confidence has paid off as, since its launch, the Green Bengal is fast becoming one of the North-west's most exclusive eating venues.
The man behind the restaurant's inviting menu is head chef Jamal Ahmed.
Combining unconventional Bengali dishes such as Kesari Jalpar and Mergh E Khazana with traditional Bengali cuisine such as Patia and Peshwari, the Green Bengal prides itself on being truly representative of the Indian sub-continent.
Hailing from Sylhet in Bangladesh, Ahmed has been a chef for 35 years and has worked at some of Bangladesh's leading restaurants, including the renowned Sunergaw in Dhaka and Purbaney in Dkaka.
A flare for imaginative cooking at the Green Bengal
His home-style cooking ethic and love for fresh ingredients, which incorporate fresh herbs and spices, ensure restaurant guests enjoy an authentic Bengali taste experience.
In a bid to appease all tastes and preferences, the restaurant also offers an alternative take on the traditional Asian dessert menu by offering international dishes such as Carrot Cake and Tiramisu, alongside Indian classics like Gulab Jaman and Kulfi.
With a 150-guest capacity, a great deal of attention to detail has been placed in perfecting the restaurant's finished look.
The venue's specially-chosen subdued lighting creates an intimate atmosphere, while the restaurant's subtle yet modern decor exudes chic simplicity.
A fresh signature green colour is a feature of the decor and blends perfectly into warm shades of cream and subtle shades of chocolate brown.
With a spacious lounge playing Bollywood classics on a large LCD screen, and a bar serving the finest global wines and liqueurs, The Green Bengal has successfully combined a relaxed atmosphere with style and elegance and will appeal to all those with impeccable taste and a love for fine food and wine in sumptuous surroundings.
